Quick answer
Go to Manager → Feedback, pick one of your reports, and write a short note — a bit of praise or a growth pointer. Save it and it is stored on that person's record. When appraisal time comes, all your notes are there, so nothing is forgotten.
Why give feedback all year, not just at appraisal?
Because memory fades. If you wait until appraisal season, you forget the small wins and the moments worth coaching.
Writing a quick note when it happens keeps the feedback fresh and fair. By review time you have a real record instead of a blank page.
How do I add a feedback note?
Open Manager → Feedback
Go to the Feedback page under Manager.Choose the person
Pick the report you want to give feedback to.Write your note
Type a short, specific note — praise or a growth pointer.Save it
Save, and the note is stored on that person's record.
What should I actually write?
Keep it short and specific. Say what happened and why it mattered.
Praise:
"Great job on the vendor call today, Anita. You stayed calm
when they pushed on price and still closed the deal."
Growth pointer:
"The report was strong, Rahul. Next time add a short summary
at the top so leadership can skim it in ten seconds."
Aim for one clear point per note. Vague notes like "good work" are hard to act on.
Where does the feedback go?
Every note is saved to that person's record. It does not vanish and it does not sit in your inbox.
When you open their appraisal later, all the feedback you gave through the year is right there, ready to guide the conversation.
Tips for good feedback
- Be timely — write it the day it happens, not weeks later.
- Be specific — name the situation and the behaviour.
- Balance it — mix praise with growth pointers so it feels fair.
- Keep it kind — the goal is to help the person grow.
Frequently asked questions
- Does my report see the feedback right away?
- Feedback is saved to their record and surfaces at appraisal time. Check your org's setting for whether it is shared instantly.
- Do I have to wait for appraisal season to give feedback?
- No. That is the whole point. Give feedback the moment something happens so it is fresh and useful.
