Quick answer

Each quarter, ASHR.work opens three review stages: the employee completes a self-review using the FASTIFY framework, the manager rates them on five criteria (5-point scale) and writes an Observation, and 2–4 assigned peers provide 360° feedback. All three feed into one final appraisal.

The three stages

  1. Self-review (FASTIFY)

The employee reflects on the quarter using seven prompts — Failure, Acceleration, Success, Threats, Innovation, Feedback & Testing, Your Contribution. Submit when done; after submission it is read-only.
  2. Manager review

The manager rates the employee on Job Knowledge, Productivity, Communication, Initiative, and Customer Execution (1–5 each), writes the Observation, and submits. The rating is visible to the employee after submission.
  3. 360° peer feedback

Admins assign 2–4 peers who worked with the employee during the period. Peers submit short feedback in a structured form. Answers are anonymised in the employee's view.

What the employee sees

After the cycle closes, the employee sees their submitted self-review, the manager's rating + Observation, and aggregated (anonymised) peer feedback in one combined view under Reviews → My Appraisals.

What admins can do

  • Open and close cycles from Admin → Settings.
  • Assign peer reviewers from Admin → Peer Assignments.
  • Export the cycle's ratings as CSV for calibration meetings (Phase 2 module).

Frequently asked questions

How often does the appraisal cycle run?
Quarterly by default. Admins can change cadence under Admin → Settings. Each cycle opens a self-review, manager review, and optional peer feedback windows.
What is the rating scale?
A 5-point scale applied to five criteria — Job Knowledge, Productivity, Communication, Initiative, and Customer Execution. The manager also adds an Observation paragraph.
What is FASTIFY?
FASTIFY is the reflection framework used in the self-review — Failure, Acceleration, Success, Threats, Innovation, Feedback & Testing, Your Contribution. Managers add the eighth element, Observation. It pushes for an honest retrospective rather than generic self-praise.
Who assigns peer reviewers?
Admins from /dashboard/admin → Peer Assignments. Each employee is paired with 2–4 peers who worked with them during the review period, with the months-worked value and projects captured for context.
